PDF

We use an application on the iPad called iAnnotate.  It allows us to mark up and make corrections directly onto your .pdf document.  This is the most convenient method of proofreading, and it allows us to make corrections far more quickly than if we were to use the archaeic method of printing, marking up, and scanning it back to you.  The more time we save in making corrections, the more transcripts we can proofread for you!  It's a win-win!

Word

We use the feature "Track Changes" in Microsoft Word to make corrections directly in your Word doc.  Our changes will appear in red font and you have the ability to either "accept changes" or "reject changes."  It's that simple!

Errata Sheet

An errata sheet is used to list corrections for errors found in the transcript.  The suggested changes will be listed by page and line number.  The court reporter will then use the errata sheet as a reference for making the corrections in the transcript.  With this method, the proofreader does not make the corrections for you.

We have created an errata sheet in Excel, but if you prefer Word format, we can do that as well.

Proofing/Scoofing to Audio

We have quite a bit of experience proofing and "scoofing," if you will, to the audio file of the deposition, hearing, trial, etc.  Because this method takes considerably more time and, depending on the quality of the transcript, involves more editing, this is billed at a slightly higher rate than the other methods.  Please refer to our Rate Sheet for specific rates.
